TAXPAYER MONEY FOR TAXPAYERS: Why
Banning Welfare for Illegals Is Common
Sense, Not Controversy
Congress just dropped a bombshell — a new bill that would strip all welfare benefits from illegal immigrants. Not partial cuts. Not reforms. A full ban.
American taxpayers have carried this burden for decades while citizens struggle to make ends meet. Every dollar going to someone who crossed the border illegally is a dollar taken from a legal resident who earned it.
This is the common-sense fix millions of Americans have been demanding for years — and it's finally on the table.
CONGRESS HAS ANNOUNCED A BILL TO BAN ALL ILLEGALS FROM RECEIVING ANY FORM OF WELFARE. DO YOU SUPPORT THIS?
For working Americans who pay taxes every two weeks and still struggle to afford groceries, the answer is simple: Absolutely yes. It is about time.
1. What the Bill Actually Does
The bill is straightforward. If you are in the United States illegally, you cannot receive taxpayer-funded benefits. That means no SNAP, no Section 8, no Medicaid, no TANF cash assistance, no federal housing, and no state programs that use federal dollars.
This does not touch emergency medical care. Federal law already requires hospitals to treat anyone in an emergency. It does not touch school lunch for kids or emergency disaster relief. It targets the long-term, monthly benefits that create a permanent magnet for illegal immigration.
2. The Numbers Washington Does Not Want You to See
Every year, illegal immigration costs American taxpayers over 150 billion dollars. That is not a talking point. That comes from the House Budget Committee’s own estimates.
Here is where it goes:
51.6 billion for education costs for illegal alien children and the children of illegals.
24 billion for welfare and benefits to illegal alien households.
22 billion for law enforcement and justice costs.
12 billion for healthcare.
Meanwhile, the average American family pays over 9,000 dollars per year in taxes to cover that cost. You are paying for it while your own kids need school supplies and your own parents wait months for Medicare appointments.
3. Welfare Is the Magnet. Turn It Off and the Crisis Slows
President Reagan said it best: “A nation that cannot control its borders is not a nation.” But a nation that rewards people for breaking those borders will never control them.
When word gets out that you can cross illegally and get a debit card, free housing vouchers, and free healthcare, millions more will come. That is not cruel to say. That is economics. Incentives drive behavior.
Cut the incentive and you cut the surge. We saw it with Title 42. We saw it with Remain in Mexico. Enforce the law and the numbers drop.
4. “But They Pay Taxes” Is a Myth
You will hear that illegal aliens pay taxes, so they deserve benefits. Here are the facts:
59 percent of illegal alien households use at least one major welfare program.
The taxes they pay do not cover the cost of services they use. The net cost to taxpayers is over 68 billion per year.
Most work off the books or with stolen Social Security numbers, which means no FICA, no real income tax, and no contribution to Social Security or Medicare solvency.
American citizens are not eligible for benefits if they lie on paperwork. Why should illegal aliens be different?
5. This Protects Legal Immigrants Too
Legal immigrants wait years. They pay thousands in fees. They do background checks, health exams, and English tests. They come here the right way because they respect America.
When illegals cut the line and get benefits funded by those legal immigrants’ taxes, it spits in the face of every person who did it lawfully. This bill defends the rule of law and the people who follow it.
6. States Are Already Drowning
New York City has spent over 5 billion housing illegal migrants in hotels. Chicago shut down police stations to house them. Denver cut DMV and parks services to pay for migrant care. California gives free healthcare to all illegals, regardless of age, while running a 73 billion deficit.
Where does that money come from? Your paycheck. Your kid’s school. Your road repair budget. This bill tells states: stop using federal money to bail out sanctuary policies.
7. The Moral Argument Is Clear
Charity is voluntary. Government welfare is taken by force from taxpayers. There is nothing moral about forcing a single mom working two jobs to pay for a non-citizen’s apartment.
Real compassion is a secure border, a lawful system, and benefits that go to Americans first. That includes veterans sleeping on streets, seniors choosing between medicine and food, and young families who cannot afford a home.
8. What Happens Next
If this bill passes, expect three things:
Self-deportation rises: When the benefits stop, many who came for welfare will leave on their own. No raids needed.
Border numbers drop: Cartels cannot sell “free benefits” as part of the package anymore.
Tax relief becomes possible: 150 billion per year means real money back in your pocket or used to fix Social Security.
Bottom Line
America is the most generous nation in history. We take in over 1 million legal immigrants per year. We lead the world in humanitarian aid. But generosity has limits.
A country that gives welfare to people who broke its laws while its own citizens struggle is not compassionate. It is suicidal.
Speaker Mike Johnson and Congress are finally putting taxpayers first. No more free rides. No more magnets. No more abuse of your paycheck.
DO YOU SUPPORT THIS?
If you believe taxpayer money should go to taxpayers, if you believe welfare should be for Americans and legal residents, and if you believe borders should mean something, then the answer is yes.
American Benefits for American Citizens. Period.
